Nagios: Anatomy of an RPM using NRPE and the packaged nrpe.spec

This article will deal with the anatomy of a RPM. Building an RPM is not hard. However, configuring the RPM for you environment can be confusing. RPMs enable the system administrator and more importantly, the organization, to painlessly deploy and upgrade packages that are custom created for the environment. RPMs file nicely into any enterprises SDLC and can be initiated through Change Management.
